this was a true story in japan. there was this couple who had this loyal labrador. however, after several years, they thought that they couldnt afford to rear it dut to bankruptcy. despite how unwilling to forsake the dog, they decided to abandon it eventually. so one day the man took the dog in his van and drove past cities and hills to another faraway place, leaving the dog there. two days later, the couple found the dog outside their house..so on another attempt, the man then decided to put a trashbag over the dog’s head on the way to another faraway place so as to prevent him from recognising the way. unfortunately upon arrival, when he took out the trashbag,  he saw blood in the dog’s mouth. this poor labrador knew that his owner wanted to abandon him and thus had committed suicide by biting off his own tongue.
there are many other dog-related stories such as dogs still going to the same bus stop at the same time in the evening to ‘wait’ for its owner even when its owner has already passed away. this simply shows their loyalty and love for their owners.

joyce hearts dogs.

doomsday clock

heard of the doomsday clock? we are 5 minutes to midnight! i didnt know about this thing until my brother told me. its this clock that shows how close humanity is to catastrophic destruction. haha but fret not, it can be rewounded. can u imagine we were 3 minutes to midnight in 1984 because the arms race was at its peak! but yep, the factors that affect the clock is more geared towards nuclear issues, climate changes and biosecurity.

dont u think the doomsday clock thing sounds pretty obscure? since our GP teachers never really mentioned it to us? hahah. but look around.

  1. The eighth episode of the series Heroes is titled Seven minutes to Midnight , which was the time on the clock at the release of the episode.
  2. Linkin Park’s third album, Minutes to Midnight, is a reference to the Doomsday Clock.
  3. Boys Like Girls’ song “5 Minutes to Midnight” .
  4. Madonna’s song, “4 minutes”, in Hard Candy is possibly referring to the Doomsday Clock.

dont i like sound like robert langdon now? (: when he talks abt symbology. and the similiarity between Zeus and Jesus. lol.

shuhui cant wait for marche tonight!

inflation!

you know, i was going to make an intellectual post on inflation but i cant find this comic drawing that i want to show everyone. ): basically, im damn sure i saw it in the TODAY newsaper less than a week ago. its a drawing of earth with its geospheres. at the lithosphere, we have hot air balloons. at the hydrosphere, we have planes. for troposphere, we have satellites. and stratosphere? we have oil, rice and bread! the picture’s really cute(: but why all the basic commodity prices are so high ):

so.. the World Bank announced that rising food prices will push 100 million more into deep poverty! i think theres nothing any of us can do since its a world wide inflation and its not helping since countries like vietnam wants to reduce rice exports to have enough for herself and also for more revenue! &i seriously dont believe that fiscal policies or tripartite works in real life either!

shuhui is upset with the 35deg weather.

closed doors

hello everyone. i want to share this story which i got in an email a few weeks ago. it came at a right time and it got me through disappointments and worries. its long, but i truly hope u guys will be blessed by this post(:

We need to learn to thank the Lord for closed doors just as much as we do for open doors. The reason God closes doors is because He has not prepared anything over there for us.

If he didn’t close the wrong door we would never find our way to the
right door. Even when we don’t realize it, God directs our paths
through the closing and opening of doors. When one door closes, it
forces us to change our course. Another door closes; it forces us to
change our course yet again. Then finally, we find the open door and
walk right into our blessing. But instead of praising God for the
closed door (which kept us out of trouble), we get upset because we
“judge by the appearances.” In our own arrogance, or ignorance, we
insist that we know what is right.

We have a very present help in the time of need who is always standing guard. God walks ahead of us, He can see trouble down the road and HE sets up road blocks and detours accordingly. Through our lack of wisdom we try to tear down the roadblocks or push aside the detour signs. Then the minute we get into trouble, we start crying “Lord how
could this happen to me?”
We have got to realize that the closed door was a blessing.

Didn’t He say that “No good thing will He withhold from them that love
Him?”
If you get terminated from your job - don’t be down, instead thank God for the new opportunities that will manifest themselves - it might be a better job, or an opportunity to go to school. If that man or woman won’t return your call - it might not be them, it might be the Lord
setting up a roadblock (just let it go).

One time a person had a bank he had been doing business with for many
years tell him “NO” for a $10,000 loan. The Lord led him to call
another bank. That bank approved a $40,000 loan for him at a lower interest rate than his own bank had advertised.

I’m so grateful, for the many times God has closed doors to me, just
to open them in the most unexpected places. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” Psalm 37:23

The Mountain top is glorious, but it is in the Valley that I will grow!

Always Remember God gives you…
Enough Happiness to keep you Sweet
Enough Trials to keep you Strong Enough
Enough Sorrows to keep you Human
Enough Hope to keep you Happy
Enough Failure to keep you Humble
Enough Success to keep you Eager
Enough Friends to give you Comfort
Enough Wealth to meet your Needs
Enough Enthusiasm to make you look forward
Enough Faith to banish depression, and
Enough Determination to make each day a better day than the last

Life must be lived forward but can only be understood backwards.
Commit to the Lord in whatever you do and your plans will succeed.
Proverbs 16:3

&i look forward to wednesday because thursday is a holiday!!
